What is Head Ache :

Home Remedies for headacheA headache or cephalalgia is pain anywhere in the region of the head or neck. It can be a symptom of a number of different conditions of the head and neck. The brain tissue itself is not sensitive to pain because it lacks pain receptors. Rather, the pain is caused by disturbance of the pain-sensitive structures around the brain. Several areas of the head and neck have these pain-sensitive structures, which are the cranium (the periosteum of the skull), muscles, nerves, arteries and veins, subcutaneous tissues, eyes, ears, sinuses and mucous membranes.

Head Ache Causes:

  1. Allergy
  2. Emotional stress
  3. Eye strain
  4. High blood pressure
  5. Hangover
  6. Low blood sugar
  7. Nutritional deficiency
  8. Tension
  9. Insomnia. The lack of sleep or sleep disorders can cause muscle tension, which can lead to headaches.
  10. The consumption of alcohol

Head Ache Prevention :

  1. Eat a healthy diet filled with fruit and vegetables, and do not skip meals for too long.
  2. Drink plenty of water to keep the body hydrated.
  3. Exercise regularly to improve your circulation
  4. Use relaxation techniques such as deep breathing exercises, hands-on-healing, and therapeutic touch to reduce the intensity of a headache.
  5. Limit hours spent in front of a computer screen.Also avoid watching television for too long or in a dimly-lit room.

Head Ache Home Remedies:

  1. Lemon: The juice of three or four slices of lemon should be squeezed in a cup of tea and taken by the patient for treating this condition. It gives immediate relief. The crust of lemon, which is generally thrown away, has been found useful in headaches caused by heat. Lemon crusts should be pounded into a fine paste in a mortar and applied as plaster on the forehead.
  2. Apple: Apples are valuable in curing all types of headaches. After removing the upper rind and the inner hard portion of a ripe apple, it should be taken with a little salt every morning on an empty stomach in such cases. This should be continued for about a week.
  3. Cinnamon (Dalchini): Cinnamon is useful in headaches caused by exposure to cold air. A fine paste of this spice should be prepared by mixing it with water and it should be applied over the temples and forehead to obtain relief.
  4. Ghee or Mustard oil: Messaging foot soles with Ghee or Mustard (Sarson) oil in the nights regularly helps to cure headaches.
