During pregnancy and lactation, many medications should be avoided because they can affect the health of the baby and the mother. This is why many people turn to natural remedies. Know the ones that suit you, and also those remedies that you should avoid during pregnancy.

Vitamin B6

This vitamin is not harmful and can be used during pregnancy to treat nausea problems. It is found naturally in sweet potatoes, as well as in chicken, meat and liver. It helps in the production of amino acids and red cells. It also helps maintain the correct level of alkalinity in the body.

In addition to vitamin B, a remedy used in Japan is umeboshi plum. If you are pregnant and get it from an oriental market, take it regularly. A morning fasting umeboshi plum can help detoxify the blood and is an important source of iron, calcium, and magnesium.

Folic acid

Folic acid, also known as vitamin B9, is very important for heart health and proper brain function. It is used to treat hernias and anemias.

Women of childbearing age should ingest between 400 and 1,000 mcg of folic acid daily since it is essential for the formation of the baby’s heart in the first weeks of pregnancy. If they are deficient in this nutrient and make up for it after learning they are pregnant, the baby’s heart will already be formed.

In nature it is known as folate and is found in abundance in green leafy vegetables, roots, avocado and salmon.

Lactobacilli

Lactobacilli during pregnancy and lactation reduce the risk of eczema for the baby. Consuming vegetable oils and margarines during the last month of pregnancy has also been shown to increase the risk of eczema in the first years of life.

Ashwagandha

It is known as bufera, but its name is also used in Sanskrit: ashwagandha. This Ayurvedic medicine remedy is used to promote balance, treat muscle problems and as a treatment for whooping cough.

It is known as Indian ginseng and during pregnancy it is used to stimulate sleep and relieve stress. Although its application is regular in India, pregnant women in the West are asked to refrain from using it because it is considered a spasmolytic.

Pineapple

The consumption of pineapple has been the result of controversy about its use during pregnancy. It is an excellent natural diuretic and is also an important source of vitamin C. In addition, it is anti-inflammatory and helps fight microorganisms.

However, the enzyme that gives it many of its properties is contraindicated. It is best to include pineapple in a diet rich in fruits and vegetables, without exceeding one cup a day, and avoid juices and concentrates.
